The IRC uses its voice and expertise, both in Europe and the US, to increase safe and legal pathways, shape systems and improve the quality of resettlement, asylum, and integration services, and promote innovative ways and solutions to address the growing global need for resettlement. In the US, the Resettlement, Asylum & Integration (RAI) unit addresses the acute humanitarian needs of refugees, asylum-seekers, and other vulnerable migrants resettled through the USRAP system and supports the longer-term integration needs of asylum-seekers and refugees.

Job Overview: The Strategic Projects Supervisor role is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director, and works closely with leadership and project members at all levels of the organization to provide critical project leadership and management to initiatives and tasks of varying complexity to advance RAI Texas offices’ short- and long-term objectives. The work may be interdependent of other efforts, multi-faceted, and cross-functional in nature. This is a critical role that requires knowledge of and experience with project planning, management, tracking and monitoring to move forward various project work streams. Ability to influence and manage multiple efforts simultaneously is critical for success.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead assessments, planning and implementation of a wide breadth of departmental and programmatic initiatives as determined by ED. Develop and implement programs aligned with the departmental vision and goals.

• Distill complex projects into discrete and actionable tasks. Prepare workplans in coordination with key program staff and partners, with clear objectives and achievement benchmarks, long-term and short-term priorities, implementation plans, projections, and tools for evaluation.

• Apply strategic relationship management and change management techniques to assure awareness and support for project goals. This includes building and executing communication plans with internal and external stakeholders (where applicable) to ensure the design and successful execution of activities.

• Develop clear financial resources required and manage project budgets.

• Manage the timely execution of all required deliverables associated with special projects within the RAI Texas offices’ network, including the design and implementation of post deployment program elements, engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure results are maintained, and opportunities for continuous improvement are addressed.

• Current special initiatives include

• Employ emergency response experience and skills to time sensitive projects.

• Work with leadership of all levels to drive agreements and standardize key operational policy processes for sustained improvements.

• Satisfy recordkeeping and reporting requirements.

• Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.

Work Experience:

• Relevant professional experience in human services field preferred; minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent project, budget and product development and management skills, with a track record of overseeing multi-site project implementation

• Strong oral and written communications skills.

• Ability to diplomatically manage a range of stakeholders, understand requirements and seek consensus.

• Comfortable with project implementation and logistical tasks and a proactive attitude towards problem solving.

• Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.

• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

• A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.

• Occasional domestic (non-local) travel required; up to 10%.

• May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
