Strategic Initiatives/Senior Project Support Specialist – Dean’s Office

The Strategic Initiatives/Senior Project Support Specialist collaborates with senior School of Medicine (SOM) leadership and strategic initiatives team to manage and execute projects.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Proactively works with colleagues on the Dean’s team and from across various constituencies at Emory to organize and coordinate work for various projects in the SOM.
  • Provides business support in the areas of planning, coordination, implementation, and communications.
  • Plans, researches, and prepares presentations and appropriate analysis.
  • Creates executive summaries, presentations, and other communications on behalf of Dean’s office.
  • Creates internal and external communications on SOM strategic priorities and interfaces with leadership to support these initiatives.
  • Analyzes and organizes qualitative and quantitative data to inform and drive critical priorities and projects for the SOM.
  • Anticipates, and in collaboration with other members of the Strategic Initiatives team, helps organize and coordinate work, and track project status for the Strategic Initiatives team.
  • Researches strategic intent of, develops agendas for, prepares materials or presentations for, and ensures follow-up of various stakeholder meetings.
  • Assists in coordinating meeting schedules for strategic initiatives team, especially for complex, large project initiatives.
  • May plan and coordinate special events, such as SOM retreats, faculty forums, etc.
  • Drafts, and edits various documents, including internal/external communications.
  • Creates and maintains files.
  • Researches and responds to a variety of questions/issues related to the Office of the Dean.
  • May act as a liaison with internal and external constituents.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively responsible administrative and project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required.
  • Excel skills preferred.

 

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.  Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
