About the Role

The School is seeking to appoint a Stores Assistant to support the Stores Manager with provision of a comprehensive facility for safe storage, procurement and handling of consumable items and equipment for use in research and teaching.

The School’s Stores Facility is the goods inward reception point and logistical distribution hub for all of the School’s engineering and chemical deliveries. The Stores also handles deliveries and distribution for the users of the schools housed within the Joseph Priestley building, namely the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences and the School of Engineering and Materials Sciences

About You

Candidates should have front line customer service experience and a willingness to learn. Experience of working in a Stores/ laboratory environment would be desirable.

The School forms one of five within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and consists of two distinct research departments delivering world-leading research and high-class teaching: Chemistry and Physics and Astronomy.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), 3years fixed term appointment, with an expected start date of October 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 2, in the range of £24,184 – £25,043 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
