Event Planner 3 For the Stanford Cancer Institute

The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) was re-designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the NCI in early 2022, and is a prominent, dynamic, growing, and complex Institute within the Stanford University School of Medicine. The SCI actively works to build synergies and collaborations among faculty with cancer-relevant expertise from four Schools and over 30 departments across Stanford University. We seek an Events Planner 3 to help us enact our mission to reduce cancer mortality through comprehensive programs of cancer research, treatment, education and outreach. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the Event Planner 3 will be conversant in the goals, mission, and priorities of the Institute and utilize this knowledge to lead the planning and execution of events and symposia. We are seeking candidates with excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Our staff run toward challenges, and you will have a demonstrated history of doing the same with a high degree of professionalism, initiative, and flexibility. Responsibilities include leading and managing high-quality, complex, large-scale events, including responsibility for financial management. Provide training and guidance to colleagues. Collecting, tracking, and reporting on event metrics to determine effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement. This is a hybrid position with on-site requirements as determined by the SCI Communications Director and the operational needs of the SCI communications team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Valid Non-Commercial Class California Driver’s License.

May require some travel and working evenings and weekends.
