Staff Scientist, Developmental Glycobiology Section
National Institutes of Health
The Ten Hagen lab in the NIH Intramural Program is actively engaged in a broad range of interdisciplinary efforts to determine the biological functions of mucins and O-glycosylation, a conserved protein modification (https://irp.nih.gov/pi/kelly-ten-hagen ). Emphasis is placed on the conduct of rigorous high risk/high reward research. Current projects include understanding the molecular basis of rare diseases; characterizing the role of O-glycosylation in organ development; and identifying novel factors involved in mucin biosynthesis and secretion.
Our lab is dedicated to building an inclusive, equitable, diverse, and family-friendly community with a focus on mentoring and training. The NIH Intramural Research Program offers a uniquely collaborative environment spanning all biomedical disciplines. There is access to outstanding core facilities and the NIH Clinical Center, the largest hospital in the world devoted exclusively to research.
Qualifications:
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D. and greater than 3 years of postdoctoral experience with a background in the biological sciences or in related disciplines. Prior experience in one or more of the following specialty areas–small molecule screens, molecular modeling, biophysics, mouse genetics, organ culture, biochemistry or cell biology–is preferred. Competitive salary and benefits are available and will be commensurate with experience.
To Apply:
Please send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, brief statement of research interests and experience, and the names and email addresses of 3 references. Please send via email as one combined pdf to Dr. Kelly Ten Hagen, Senior Investigator, at: [email protected]
