University Human Resources (UHR) supports the Rutgers mission as an institution of prominence, preeminent in research, teaching, service, and clinical care. This opportunity will be dedicated to supporting Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), the state’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and RWJ Barnabas Health, the state’s largest health care delivery system, partner to deliver high-quality and sophisticated oncology care to patients close to home. This integrated cancer care model combines the strength of both entities, offering access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for adult and pediatric cancer patients, including clinical trials, immunotherapy, proton therapy, precision medicine, CAR T-cell therapy and cardio-oncology. Unique opportunities exist for collaborations between clinical and research programs, including clinical trials research, cancer chemoprevention, clinical and basic pharmacology, and Phase 1 clinical trials.
Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist for University Human Resources and Rutgers CINJ. This position will perform full lifecycle recruitment to identify, source and recruit top talent in a highly competitive business marketplace.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Develops appropriate staffing plans to strategically support the company’s short and long term business needs and objectives. Analyzes business operations and needs and advises on appropriate positions required to fulfill needs.
  • Uses expertise to identify, evaluate, and manage recruitment sourcing plans including networking, internal job boards, database mining, employee referrals, internal transfers and promotions, ad response, professional outreach, and advanced recruiting techniques.
  • Develops deep understanding of the business operations to define value propositions specific to the position and department and develop communications to prospective candidates. Attends department meetings, consults with management, and surveys current employees.
  • Coordinates Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with hiring managers to develop position specific recruitment campaigns.
  • Manages applicant tracking system, data integrity and effective use of online tools and automation. Implement SLAs determined by UHR and the University.
  • Builds and fosters relationships with university career services, student organizations and other campus resources to proactively build talent pipelines. Uses university recruiting platforms and direct outreach to university and college contacts.
  • As internal consultant to hiring managers, provides direction and guidance on staffing strategies, job responsibilities, behavioral interviewing techniques (including identification of Core Competencies required), employment law and selection process.
  • Partners with Compensation to advise client groups on salary/compensation issues, negotiate salaries and contracts, and extend offers.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in talent acquisition.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possess a consultative approach to problem solving, be able to identify issues, partner with internal stakeholders and identify ways to resolve issues proactively.
  • Excellent oral, written/oral communication skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Overall problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Talent acquisition experience in clinical research or healthcare.
