Sr Manager Category Marketing (Virtual)

The Sr. Manager Category Marketing – Education, General Studies and Continuing Education is responsible for executing the University’s go-to-market and engagement strategy for UOPX Education, Gen Studies and Continuing Education academic programs and associated academic student segments, including communication touches such as phoenix.edu presence, email, PR, paid search, display, social, marketing assets and other digital channels, to drive growth via these discreet segments. The individual translates institutional strategy to marketing requirements and go-to-market plans for these segments, briefing in those requirements to the marketing organization for activation, developing project plans, driving implementation, identifying and solving issues, serving as liaison among cross-functional stakeholders, monitoring/refining results/plans, and optimizing performance of the contact go-to-market plans to meet/exceed KPIs, generate and convert demand and drive revenue and enrollment growth. The individual also develops and activates the product strategy for the ecommerce platform.
What You’ll Do
1. Activate the University’s go-to-market plans for UOPX academic programs supporting the schools of Education, General Studies and Continuing Education, including tactics such as phoenix.edu presence, email, PR, events, social, marketing assets, and other new/emerging channels, with a dotted-line reporting accountability to the academic functional leadership teams.
2. Develop briefs and activate approved testing roadmap elements to address business problems represented in the Education, General Studies and Continuing Education products and customer segments, leveraging insights from research, data and learnings, in line with the strategic direction of the University.
3. Monitor results of the testing roadmap and go-to-market plans and report key insights back to functional leadership, along with recommendations for continued optimization and performance improvement.
4. Monitor and optimize efforts for Education, General Studies and Continuing Education customer segments that better meet these segment needs, while driving growth among these segments.
5. Work collaboratively with IT, ops, legal/compliance, creative and channel teams to bring to life all segment engagement initiatives. This includes communication touches such as phoenix, edu, email, direct mail, SMS Text, Phone and other new technologies throughout the segment engagement experience.
6. Finalize implementation and ongoing optimization of ecommerce platform for Continuing Education products and segment.
7. Track and analyze user behavior and response to contact efforts by requesting data views into go-to-market plan results. Optimize efforts to improve engagement and drive business results based on learnings.
8. Develop strong collaborative relationships with marketing channels, operations, legal/compliance, creative, content, and student enrollment teams to ensure successful execution of go-to-market plans.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

What You Bring to the Table
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in eCommerce and product marketing
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience in higher education or other verticals with a considered decision-making purchase journey preferred
- Strategic and analytical background
- Collaborative nature and experience working in highly matrixed environment
- Fluent in agile methodology and processes
- Thrives under pressure and in fast-paced and changing environment
- Skilled at digesting key insights from data and conceptualizing go-to-market testing ideas and plans from scratch
- Proven experience in designing go-to-market strategies/plans spanning a broad lifecycle and a variety of segments
- Strong knowledge of marketing technology and personalization enablement
- Strong communicator with good public speaking skills to present to senior leadership and other cross-functional groups
- Experience collaborating with both internal and external cross-functional teams in the design and execution of go-to-market plans
- Experience in developing strong partnerships with internal marketing partners cross-functionally and external agencies and media partners
- Proven experience in a progressively responsible capacity leading and/or acting as a resource to department staff as it relates to integrated marketing initiatives, processes, and activities
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of conceptual and strategic thinking
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
