Sr Director, Retention Analytics & Insights

Role Overview:

McAfee’s Analytics team is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Retention Analytics and Insights to build and lead our retention analytics function. In this critical new role, you will drive strategic value by developing deep insights into customer behavior and engagement, collaborating with marketing, product, and customer experience teams to foster long-lasting relationships with our subscribers. You will also serve as a key thought partner to the head of Retention and will closely work with Finance, and Strategy teams, helping shape McAfee’s Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) journey.

This role demands a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and expertise in subscription-based businesses. As a Senior Director, you will work closely with senior leaders to develop retention strategies based on customer segmentation, cohort analysis, and predictive modeling.

The is a remote role based out of Canada. We are only considering candidates based out of Canada and are not offering relocation at this time.

About the role:

  • Lead Analytics Team: Manage a team of analysts focused on reporting key metrics, providing actionable insights, creating testing plans, and conducting deep-dive analyses to support retention initiatives. 

  • Develop Testing Roadmaps: Create prioritized “test and learn” roadmaps, recommending testing methodologies and approaches. Ensure results are robust and yield meaningful interpretations for strategic decision-making. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to align KPIs and metrics definitions across the business, acting as a trusted thought partner to Retention leadership. 

  • In-Depth Customer Behavior Analysis: Lead your team in conducting detailed analyses of customer behavior, channel performance, testing, and forecasting to improve retention marketing performance. 

  • Data Integrity Management: Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and MarTech teams to monitor and resolve data integrity issues, ensuring clean and accurate data to drive retention strategies. 

About you:

  • 12+ years of experience in analytics, with a strong focus on customer retention. Experience in subscription marketing within a Direct-to-Consumer business is highly preferred. 

  • Degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related technical field preferred. Consulting experience is a plus.  

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data and insights into strategic recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc. 

  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. 

  • Expertise in test design and measurement techniques, including A/B testing. 

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
