Sr. Accountant in Honolulu, Hawaii

We are looking to add a Senior Accountant to the Honolulu Team of Full-Time Engagement Professionals. As a Senior Accountant your responsibilities will build from your prior experience/core competencies while developing tertiary and new skills. Responsibilities

• Oversee the establishment and maintenance of financial policies and procedures in the hotel.

• Facilitate the preparation and presentation of financial reports to hotel management and stakeholders.

• Direct and coordinate budgeting, procurement, and investment activities.

• Ensure compliance of financial operations with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

• Supervise the accounting department’s operations including the design of an organizational structure for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with hotel management to optimize the hotel’s financial performance and strategic position.

• Aid in financial audits and cooperate with external auditors.

• Handle account reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, and inventory processes.

• Undertake additional finance-related tasks as needed.

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger

• Experience in preparing and maintaining Journal Entries

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Demonstrable experience in Month End Close procedures

• Prior experience in the Hotel industry is preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of accounting software and systems

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
