The University Of Miami is currently seeking a Speech Pathologist 2 to work at Soffer Research Clinical Center in Miami. The incumbent coordinates speech and language services for patients enrolled in assigned facilities. The Speech Pathologist 2 also administers speech and language evaluations and therapy services for patients enrolled in applicable school programs. Moreover, this role takes part in a multidisciplinary team and takes on administrative duties.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Takes part in a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment strategies and achieve functional outcomes.

  • Develops, plans, and implements a program for generalization of speech and language goals for both home-based and center-based students.

  • Implements classroom-based therapy models and techniques to coincide with program philosophy.

  • Implements therapy in a natural environment whenever possible.

  • Consults with classroom teachers to implement speech therapy goals in the classroom.

  • Evaluates, plans, and implements the use of assistive technology in classrooms.

  • Writes initial speech language pathology evaluations, quarterly progress notes, Medicaid notes, plans of care, family support plan goals, and final discharge summaries.

  • Provides guidance to parents and classroom staff on appropriate communication strategies to facilitate skill generalization.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Master’s Degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
