About This Opportunity  

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Speech and Language Pathologist to provide clinical research support to The Neurodevelopmental Clinic as part of a research conducted in partnership with Children’s Health Queensland, The Murri School and Inala Indigenous Health.  

 

Reporting to Dr Natasha Reid, this role is critical to ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical research outcomes to expand assessment and diagnostic services for fetal spectrums disorder in Queensland. 

 

This position is physically based at the Child Health Research Centre.  

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Maintain a high standard of administrative, communication and consultative skills to work independently and effectively with other research team members, research participants, and multi-disciplinary health service staff 

  • Maintain a high standard of assessment and records including review and scoring of data, data entry, and analysis for reporting on research outcomes 

  • Provide clinical advice to the research team regarding service delivery, improvement opportunities and research service enhancement 

  • Provide clinical research support to enhance skills, knowledge, confidence and build research capacity and ensure the maintenance of professional standards in data collection 

  • Maintain and build effective networks with key stakeholders to further service delivery opportunities in southern and central Queensland.

About You   

  • Completion of a tertiary qualification with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 

  • Is it a requirement of this position that the incumbent holds and maintains full AHPRA registration. 

  • It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be eligible to be credentialed within QLD Health facilities. 

  • The ability to apply high level clinical knowledge and skills to deliver neurodevelopmental assessments.  

  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships, deal with any clinical research issues sensitively and assertively and the ability to interact with a diverse range of colleagues, research participants and stakeholders. 

  • A high level of computer literacy including the Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Demonstrated excellent administrative and organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure 

  • A demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information handling principles in accordance with relevant ethics requirements. 

 

What We Can Offer  

 

This is a part-time (50% FTE) fixed-term position up to 2 years at HEW Level 7. 

 

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $90,538 – $98,719 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $105,929 – $115,501 per annum.
