Special Projects and Communications Administrator, Global Programs and University Life


Serve as principal aide and day-to-day manager for the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice Provost (VCSVP) for Global Programs and University Life (GP/UL) and University Liaison to NYU Abu Dhabi. This includes oversight and implementation of the Vice Chancellor’s schedule, activities, and meetings involving a cross section of university schools, units and departments including NYU Abu Dhabi, Global Programs, Students Affairs, and other internal and external key stakeholders. With other members of the VCSVP’s office, strategize on prioritization, planning, and execution of special projects and other university initiatives. Serve as primary support for Global Programs and AD-related faculty governance, staffing and related functions. Support VCSVP and the GP/UL communications efforts. Oversee all financial and related activities and systems, provide reporting and analysis on financial and other related data; oversee student workers. Support the VCSVP’s research and related professorial portfolio.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising office operations, demonstrated ability or experience in managing staff, developing and implementing office policies, and administering budgets and operations.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic, legal, public interest, or corporate environment. Graphic design experience is a plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Intelligence, flexibility, and creativity. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Stellar writing and visual design skills. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures and effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Good judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and ability to maintain confidence are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to be creative and flexible in response to complex work situations.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:


Interest in international relations, film production or social work research a plus

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $100,000.00.
