Department Summary The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a for a part-time adjunct teaching position in Sociology beginning Spring 2023.
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for its Sociology Adjunct Instructor pool. The number of vacancies is dependent upon student enrollment, division needs, and Dean’s approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received.
Position Summary Adjunct faculty plans courses and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop curriculum and provide instruction in a range of classes in Sociology and Justice and Social Policy. Other duties may include coordination with the department Program Coordinator, and other faculty as needed.

Additional Posting Details

Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Sociology, or in an equivalent discipline, with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology and outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum Sociology courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Sociology with significant experience in higher education;
  • Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution;
  • Specialized work related or teaching experience that directly relates to the course being taught
  • Experience in online course development and teaching;
  • Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
