• Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.
• Work with community resources/programs, as well as Medicaid/Medicare in the hospital system.
• Work with a variety of patient concerns.

Job SummaryResponsible to plan, organize and implement social work services for cancer patients and families assuring that the medically related clinical, emotional, social and spiritual needs are met/maintained on an individual basis. Provides counseling to individuals as well as group supportive counseling. Facilitates quality care/education for patients and their families; coordination, implementation and evaluation of clinical activities, patient, professional and public education, performance improvement and assists with administrative functions. Conducts psychosocial assessment and care planning for the continuum of cancer care in the outpatient setting. Maintains contact with referring agencies and related people and with community resources used for referral.

Education and/or Experience

• Master’s degree required.
• Oncology related experience and/or training preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Licensed as a Social Worker in the state of South Dakota required.
• Oncology social work certification preferred.

PayThe hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $28.75 – $43.50 per hour
