Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Social Media Officer
to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.

The Marketing and Communication Department is seeking a Social Media Officer to contribute to QUT’s social media strategy and assist in content creation across various social media platforms.
They will contribute to the execution of creative, timely, and engaging digital content to enhance QUT’s reputation both nationally and internationally.

About the Chancellery Division

Chancellery Division is responsible for strategy, including Indigenous strategy, government relations and policy, assurance and risk, international, marketing and communications, and business development. The Chancellery Division is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President.

About the Department

The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:

  • Building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
  • Engaging and recruiting future students; and
  • Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.

As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.

What you need to succeed

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree combined with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in a social media capacity in a corporate, media or university setting.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy skills including working familiarity with social media channels (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok) and the ability to create and upload content using social media tools such as social studio.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to and execute best practice social media strategies, plans and tactics including the ability to produce engaging organisational content including videos and photos.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to tailor communication as appropriate to the audience and platform.
  • Ability to work proactively, as part of a team or independently, while responding and adapting quickly in a changing environment.

    Remuneration: $96,955 to $104,981 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $81,928 to $88,710 pa salary, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
