About the opportunity 

Love social media? Love the University of Sydney? This an opportunity where you can combine the two! We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator (aka social superstar) to join the USYD Central Social Media team, that sits within the Brand and Content team, which is part of the wider University of Sydney Marketing and Communications team. The Central Social media team is responsible for igniting, building, and nurturing the University’s vibrant community through its social media channels that include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, We Chat and of course TikTok! Join the team that is responsible for documenting, creating and distributing the incredible stories that demonstrate Leadership For Good from the Unviersity of Sydney. The team continues to grow and as campus begins to open up again we are looking for support to help us storytell and keep up with our content demans on each of our channels. We are on the hunt for a hard working, enthusiastic and motivated current student to join as the Social Media Coordinator.

  

Your key responsibilities (but not limited to) will be to:

  • under the direction of the Social Media Manager and Senior Content Producer create social media content, videos and document important or significant events throughout campus

  • copywright according to editorial guidelines to support the Brand and Content Team

  • monitoring social media channels and stay on top of current trends

  • assist with capturing content on ground and driving student generated engagement campaigns.

  • monitor social media and identify emerging issues of interest to students

  

About you

  • strong familiarity with social media trends and channels, and proven ability to generate engaging content for channels including Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

  • experience in creating and editing video for social media.

  • excellent content writing, editing and proof reading skills to ensure a standard the meets editorial requirements and objectives.

  • high level oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • creative thinker
