Job Summary: The Student Life Program Manager I provides oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and delivery of one or more programs, services, or activities within a department. May supervise professional staff. Part of the Student Life Career Progression Plan.

Additional Department Summary: The Program Manager provides oversight for outreach and marketing to students, alumni, and prospective students within the College of Communication and Information Sciences. Coordinates Career Center efforts with the student services office to engage students with the Career Center at C&IS. Fosters long-lasting relationships with student organizations and departments within both Student Life and Academic Affairs (First-Year Experience, Student Engagement, Student Media, and the Office of Disability Services, etc.). Aides in the overall development of C&IS students. Initiates and provides leadership and training to all staff within Career Center at C&IS for all outreach and programming efforts. Works alongside administration, faculty, and staff in order to maximize the delivery of services for all C&IS students. Coordinates with Career Center staff, Division of Student Life staff, staff within other divisions of the University and external constituents and vendors when appropriate. Promotes respectful and inclusive participation of diverse populations and organizations to achieve individual and organizational success, so that appropriate services are provided to all student populations within the College of Communication and Information Sciences. Stays current on industry trends and develops a marketing and student outreach plan based on the needs of the individual disciplines within the College. Reports to the Director of Career Education.

Responsible for completing required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience; OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Career Theory and Development. Understanding of college populations and subpopulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in student personnel, human resources, counseling, higher education, communications or a related field and three (3) years of experience in career services in a University setting. Certification or Qualification in career assessment.
