Site Services Advisor

  • Continuing, part time (17.5 hour per week)
  • Promote high-quality client-focused service by providing in-person and online library support
  • Base Salary $73K + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

Site Services Advisor is responsible for providing and promoting high-quality client-focused services through in-person and online library support, library services delivery and client engagement activities.

In this role, you will provide staff, students and community members with information resources and services to support their learning, teaching and research at the University of Sydney.

Your key activities (working in a team setting) will be to:

  • answer questions about Library services and resources received via service points, roving services, online and telephone, this includes referring or escalating matters to other library staff or areas of the university (when required).
  • assist clients to locate and use online and in-person information resources and services, including those located outside of the University Library
  • support the coordination of an area of service delivery, for example client and student engagement programs or unit of study reading lists.

Flexibility is essential, with staff working across the various library locations and delivering service to support opening, closing and weekend hours. The roles will work across campuses, including Camperdown/Darlington and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music campus. The University Library reserves the right to transfer or rotate the location of this position to any of its Library sites based on workloads, professional development or business needs. Experience of working in a library or learning support environment is desirable.

About you

  • evidence of high-level customer service skills and experience
  • computer skills in a range of word processing, database, spread sheet and web-based software
  • experience contributing to a team, focusing on accomplishing team goals and assisting other team members
  • creativity in applying technology to support improvement of existing services and work practices.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.

Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
