Course number and title: PSY 210H1F – L0101 – Introduction to Developmental Psychology

Course description: The developmental approach to the study of behaviour with a focus on infancy through childhood. Topics include sensorimotor skills, cognition, socialization, personality, and emotional behaviour.

Estimated TA support: 240 hours

Estimated course enrolment: 188 students

Class schedule: Tuesday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The delivery method for this course is currently in-person. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

Salary:

  • Includes vacation pay 

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,457.90

Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term: $9,930.79

Sessional Lecturer II: $10,121.77

Sessional Lecturer II, Long Term: $10,326.62

Sessional Lecturer III: $10,362.76

Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term: $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in Developmental Psychology; past experience and demonstrated excellence teaching psychology courses in developmental psychology.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching developmental psychology courses at the University of Toronto.

Description of duties: Includes, but not limited to, lecturing, advising students, test/final exam invigilation, reporting final marks, and supervising course TAs.
