Course description: The learning objective of this first-year course explores how policy processes and frameworks need to be evaluated in light of the social context in which they are developed.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

Salary: Salary: Sessional Lecturer I – $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term – $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II – $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II (Long Term) – $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III -$10,362.76; Sessional Lecturers III (Long Term) – $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications: Graduate degree in the field of Sociology required. Demonstrated leadership experience in this subject matter in the public sector required.

Preferred qualifications: Two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level preferred.

Description of duties: Teaching at the graduate level, developing the syllabus, teaching three hours of classes weekly, providing weekly office hours for academic counseling of students, preparing and delivering course material, preparing and delivering assignments and tests, marking student work and submitting grades.
