Course number and title: Sessional Lecturer – LHA1803H – Recurring Issues in Postsecondary Education
Course description:
This course provides an examination of some of the issues that have characterized postsecondary education in the past and are likely to continue to be faced in the future. The objectives of the course are to: (1) provide a broad, introductory overview of postsecondary education as a field of scholarly inquiry and research; (2) examine the major issues of a recurring nature which have confronted postsecondary education, albeit in different forms and contexts, over time and in different jurisdictions; and (3) introduce students to some of the most important writings in the field.

Sessional Lecturer I: $9,182.42
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $9,641.55
Sessional Lecturer II: $9,826.96
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,025.84
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,060.93
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $10,262.15
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in Higher Education or a related field; have a demonstrated record of scholarship in the field of Higher Education and the subject area of the course;
have practical experience related to the topic of the course; and have successful graduate teaching experience in the subject area of the course and a successful track record of teaching online, preferably using Canvas/Quercus.

Prepare, organize, and lead this graduate half course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback.
