Course description: Introduces students to public policy and institutional foundations of public policy in Canada, with an emphasis on environmental policy in Ontario. Provides an “insider’s” perspective on how environmental policy has been developed in Ontario.
Prerequisite: Completion of 8.0 credits including ENV221H1/ENV222H1. Students who do not meet the prerequisites are encouraged to contact the Undergraduate Associate Director.

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2025 – April 30, 2025
Salary:
Salary: Sessional Lecturer I – $9457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term – $9930.79;
Sessional Lecturer II – $10121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term – $10326.62;
Sessional Lecturer III – $10362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term – $10570.02
These salaries are inclusive of vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD or masters with equivalent professional and/or academic experience required. Understanding of the environmental policy-making process and the Ontario public service, with service as a policy analyst with the Ontario public service, or comparable government department, required.
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant academic or professional publications, and previous experience teaching a similar graduate or undergraduate course, are highly desirable.
Duties of course instructor: teaching the course; developing and revising course curriculum; delivering weekly lectures or arranging guest lecturers; arranging required readings; holding office hours; evaluating student performance, and supervising TA.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
