Course Number and Title: COG342H1F – Issues in Cognitive Science II: Concepts, Theories of Mind, and Cognitive Evolution

Course Description: An examination of core topics in cognitive science building on introductions in COG250Y1. Typical topics include: concepts; theories of mind; cognitive evolution.

Estimated Course Enrolment: 65 students

Estimated TA Support: 1 position (75 hours – subject to final enrolment)

Class Schedule: Tuesdays, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm**

Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree required.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred; experience teaching in a university environment preferred. Demonstrated teaching and research expertise on topics relating to Cognitive Science as listed in the course description (e.g. theories of mind; cognitive evolution) is preferred. 

Description of Duties: Normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours. Supervising the TA (if applicable), preparing and supervising tests and exams.
