Course description:

The Digital Health Marketing course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to effectively utilize rapidly evolving digital communication and engagement strategies within the healthcare landscape. The course covers practical topics such as content strategy and marketing, social media engagement, regulatory considerations, data analytics, and the utilization of emerging technologies. These topics will enable students to strategically identify the most suitable digital channels and technologies for organizations and businesses, including biotech, health tech, MedTech, and pharma, to connect with healthcare professionals, patients, communities, and stakeholders. Through practical case studies, this course will empower students with a competitive edge for their future professional careers. It will build on their existing coursework and provide them with a toolbox to communicate, engage, and reach healthcare target audiences and markets at all touchpoints in their journey.

Estimated course enrolment: 18

Estimated TA support: 40-50

Class Schedule: Specific dates to be determined in consultation with the MBiotech Program Office (NOTE: All courses at UofT Mississauga are expected to be delivered in-person in Winter 2025)

Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 8th- April 8th, 2025

Salary: $17,267.74 (includes 4% vacation pay)

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate degree in physical sciences or Heath-related sciences. Masters level training in biotechnology and digital health technologies or related areas. Experience in: life sciences technologies or medical devices and related industry sectors; digital health strategy and marketing.

Preferred Qualifications: Same as minimum qualifications.

Description of Duties: All normal duties related to the design, teaching and delivery of a University credit course including, but not limited to: Meeting with each of the student teams to guide/advise them on their presentations. Holding office hours as required. Marking/evaluating student presentations and written examination; recording student attendance; recording and submitting grades; and communicating with students on course related matters, for the Winter term.
