Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in Developmental Psychology

The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Health at York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream position in Developmental Psychology. This is a Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) to the teaching stream for a three-year term to commence July 1, 2025.

Core responsibilities of this position will involve teaching undergraduate courses in the Developmental Sciences area of York University’s Psychology Department. Courses may include those such as Developmental Psychology, Development in Adolescence, Infancy, or Developmental Seminars. Courses are offered to students within the Department of Psychology, the Faculty of Health, and across York University. Many are also part of a unique Concentration program offered as a degree option https://www.yorku.ca/health/psychology/concentrations/ at York.

Candidate Qualifications:
Degree: PhD in Psychology prior to the start date of the appointment.

Teaching:
• A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching and dedication to students (e.g., the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations, including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; and teaching evaluations).

Additional: Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated excellence in teaching Developmental Psychology, particularly in undergraduate courses with large enrollment within the last 3 years.
