About the RoleThe Senior Controller, IT Finance plays a key role in supporting the Magna IT team in managing the business and improving the overall financial performance. Reporting to the Director of Finance, they provide Global Support to specific IT functional areas.Regular travel less then 10% of the time. Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Controlling processes for assigned IT functional and regional areas such as monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, business planning, project accounting and capital expenditure tracking
  • Partner with the Magna IT team and provide them with management reporting, business analysis for business decisions and support of pricing calculations
  • Work with other corporate functional departments such as Corporate Tax or Treasury to ensure that Magna IT meets internal requirements such as transfer pricing requirements

Who we are looking for

  • Commercial or economic education (university, university of applied sciences) with a specialization in finance/controlling; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in Accounting and Finance with a thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices & procedures
  • Proven record of supervisory experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Accounting experience to include overseeing/managing company financial summaries such as month-end, year-end and operation reviews, year-end auditing process, general accounting, developing business plans, and analysis of balance sheets, income statements and cash flow
  • Experience working with virtual teams an asset

  • Pragmatic, self-starter with strong analytical skills to identify core issues. Strong problem-solving ability to come up with practical solutions that work for the business
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and persuasively
  • Ability to build solid relationships and to influence across a diverse group of business people with a wide array of professional backgrounds, including executive management
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills: advanced Excel, PowerPoint, data warehouse and ERP systems
