Service Designer
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)
Support pioneering research and world-class education by designing and optimising digital services for our academic users. That’s your challenge as Service Designer at TU Delft Library.
Knowledge sharing is the core business of the TU Delft Library. Not only by making knowledge available, but also by facilitating students, teachers, researchers and global scholarly community in acquiring new knowledge and skills. We offer multiple services – research services (e.g. finding the right resources, managing research data, publishing and disseminating research output); education services (e.g. online information and training about literature search, and publishing) and open spaces (e.g. places to meet, study, work and relax). It’s our mission to open up our vast knowledge and research results globally and help users benefit from the full potential of our offline and digital services.
As Service Designer you play a key role in the service design team, working with the current Service Designer, and User Experience Officer. Adopting a user-centric approach, you will contribute to the change of our spaces, interfaces and processes to optimise usability and our users’ experience. To optimise the services the library offers, you will work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, communication experts and the management team. You research and develop customer needs and concepts according to proven (design) methods. You translate needs into concrete solutions and ensure that they are implemented with the right nuance. You advise on the design of interfaces and spaces and supervise the implementation of your proposals. The best approach for multiple user groups? That’s for you to decide, as this is your area of expertise!
Your work is all about driving change to help us provide excellent library services to our university and the academic world at large!
First round interviews will take place on 5th and 7th December. If needed, second-round interviews will take place in the week beginning 12th December
