Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (Counsellor)

About us: The UWE Bristol Wellbeing Service (within Student and Academic Services) are seeking a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (Counsellor) to join our highly qualified, experienced, and committed multi-disciplinary team

As a multidisciplinary team we provide Counselling and Mental Health Support to students and work closely with our internal partner services to provide effective coordination of support, and to empower our students to become ready and able graduates. 

About you: You will be an experienced counsellor, passionate about working with students in higher education with a good understanding of the complex needs of our diverse student population.  Some experience of working with young people, preferably in Higher Education, would be an advantage.

You must have completed a post-graduate level counselling qualification and hold current professional registration with one of the following bodies: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BCP, or as a clinical or counselling psychologist with BPS. Please note these are essential requirements of the post.

You will have a solution focused approach and be comfortable with delivering the ‘One At A Time (OAAT) counselling model.

You will work collaboratively with other services and external partners and participate in a weekly duty rota.

You will bring your individual experiences and expertise to on occcasion provide training and presentations to colleagues as required, to participate in University-wide projects and contribute to service reports.

This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week, working pattern to include one late evening shift (12.30 – 8pm and Saturday 10-6pm)
