Position Summary: 
The incumbent is primarily responsible for initiating venous access for the purpose of IV contrast administration during the performance of imaging procedures. Venous access includes the use of implanted ports as necessary. The incumbent will also assist with other nursing procedures, medication administration, taking vital signs, collecting and processing specimens for analysis, and assisting physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures. Incumbent will also provide Tech Assist support to MRI and CT defined as:  ensuring patients scheduled for these studies are prepped and prepared, providing assistance to the technologists by navigating the patient from check in to procedure area to check out. Incumbent will be main contact for technologist regarding patients scheduled.  Incumbent observes records and reports the physical and mental condition of patients. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies necessary for daily operations and prepares equipment for treatments and procedures.
 
 
Salary Range: 
 
Hourly Rate  Minimum   $29.29            Midpoint       $32.86             Maximum $36.43
 
Required Qualifications:
  
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
IV Certification
Port Access Certification (can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
Experience with pediatric patients, including ability to start IVs
ACLS Certification (can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
 
Licenses and Certifications:
Basic Life Support(Required)
Licensed Vocational Nurse(Required)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Current PALS certification
Experience working in an ambulatory surgical, plastics, or dermatology setting
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
Experienced in an Imaging environment
Understanding of JCAHO requirements
Experience in a hospital environment
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
