About the Department
The Shared Services Office is a service organization dedicated to continuous improvement for HR, Payroll, and Procure to Pay services. We strive to deliver high quality services and an excellent experience so faculty and staff can focus on teaching and research. We provide Human Resources support for compensation activities, data management, staff recruitment, student employment and time tracking. We provide Payroll support for employee wage and fellowship payments, independent contractor and other reportable payments, payroll corrections, tax calculation and reporting and compliance for payment to non citizens and entities. In addition, Shared Services provides Procure to Pay support for invoice processing, vendor management, check requests, purchase order compliance and expense reimbursement.
Job Summary
The Senior Training Specialist, Human Resources will design, develop, implement, and deliver training and learning documentation for human resources partners and staff audiences at the University of Chicago. This position will initially focus on developing and delivering a comprehensive onboarding training curriculum for Human Resource Partners.(HRPS) The goal is to ensure HRP’s are provided a consistent and robust training experience to ensure they are set up for success in their new role. This position will also support the training execution and delivery for the upcoming new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Oracle Cloud and its related business intelligence reporting tool, Orbit. The individual in this position will implement innovative learning strategies that contribute to the development and sustainability of a viable workforce, enhancing expertise and compliance for the University of Chicago community. Topics will include, but not limited to, HR Polices, Applicant Lifecyle, Compensation, Progressive Discipline, Performance Management, Separations, Employee Labor Relations.
This position requires demonstrated experience managing learning and development programs, instructional design, learning technology. The successful candidate will possess the ability to create and manage the distribution of internal and external communications, including email announcements, upcoming training opportunities, newsletters, etc. The job provides professional support and solves straightforward problems in the design and delivery of training offerings for UChicago audiences. Develops and implements a strategy for targeted market training courses and evaluates the efficacy of current programs. Coordinates in-person and web-based trainings and provides necessary materials and instruction to those individual trainers.
