The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic bioinformatician to join the Monash Bioinformatics Platform. The Monash Bioinformatics Platform (www.monash.edu/researchinfrastructure/bioinformatics ) provides high-end bioinformatics expertise, development and training, as well as facilitating collaboration across Monash University’s research groups and facilities. The Platform has a strong genomics capability within one of the largest biomedical research communities in Australia. It’s also the hub for a distributed network of bioinformaticians embedded across the University and coordinates technical training and infrastructure development.
This individual would support the development and implementation of analysis in R for single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, as well as routine analysis such as RNAseq, ChIPseq and ATACseq analysis. You will work closely with both molecular and computational biologists.
Applicants should have a relevant degree and extensive experience in a relevant discipline, such as biology, computer science, physics, statistics or bioinformatics.
Applicants with specialised experience in single cell or bulk transcriptomic sequencing analysis are encouraged to apply. Experience with general analyses of nextgen sequencing data, and bioinformatics or statistical methods development will be considered favourably. The position will report to Bioinformatics Platform manager, Dr Deanna Deveson Lucas.
This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
