Senior Technical Experts, Multi-Sectors – (Roster Recruitment)

As part of our commitment to strengthening our technical expertise network, we are seeking qualified professionals to collaborate with us on future projects regionally in West & Central Africa. World Vision regularly seeks top talent for involvement in requests for proposals, funding opportunities, and ongoing programming efforts.

Job Purpose

The selected technical advisors will be included in World Vision West Africa Region’s roster for project-based and consultancy assignments. Experts will contribute to designing and implementing solutions across various humanitarian and development contexts, ensuring sustainable impact through innovative and data-driven approaches.

Areas of Expertise

We are looking for experts with experience in one or more of the following technical areas:

  • Food Security/Ag and Livelihood and Resilience
  • Education
  • Protection and Safeguarding
  • Women’s Empowerment
  • Infrastructure
  • Economic Growth
  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Environmental Sustainability Climate and Environment.
  • Local & Regional Governance Strengthening/ Civil Society Engagement
  • Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion
  • Global Health & Nutrition
  • Provide subject matter expertise in their respective fields to design and implement high-impact development solutions.
  • Lead and support technical inputs for program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Contribute to proposal development efforts by drafting technical sections and methodologies.
  • Support donor engagement and prepositioning efforts by engaging with donors, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and partnerships.
  • Develop and oversee capacity-building initiatives for local partners, communities, and field teams.
  • Ensure alignment of programming with donor expectations, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Conduct field assessments, research, and technical evaluations to inform program strategies.
  • Support policy development and institutional strengthening efforts at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing and learning from field offices for broader dissemination and sharing within communities of practice (CoP)
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
  • This role involves being part of a virtual, geographically dispersed team
  • Minimum of 10 years or equivalent in work experience in a relevant technical sector.
  • University degree in a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience working in humanitarian, development, or fragile contexts.
  • In-depth knowledge/expertise in sector programming including evidence-based best practices.
  • Strong writing, analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively remotely with host governments, local and international NGOs, and donors.
  • Experience in working with faith, faith actors and faith-related issues in development Experience of humanitarian and fragile contexts.
  • Experience with proposal development, project management, and technical advisory roles.
  • Fluent in both French and English required
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in French and English.
  • Knowledge of specific donor M&E requirements (e.g., EU, ECHO, FCDO, AFD, GFFO, BMZ, UN, GIZ, World Bank, African Development Bank, BMGF, etc.)
  • Recent and extensive experience living and working in sub-Saharan Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
