Are you ready to join this team and make an impact?”You will work with the Modeling, Simulation, and Training Tools (MST) team within Global Engineering & Technology. MST is a team of multi-disciplinary engineers who help solve difficult engineering and design problems by applying innovative simulation and digital design tools. Our team provides detailed engineering simulation and analysis services for Park Operations Line of Business, Walt Disney Imagineering, Global Engineering and Technology (GE&T), Transportation, Engineering Services, and Entertainment.For this role, these services may include developing dynamic mechanical system models & simulations; electro-mechanical simulations; finite element analysis; rigid or multi-body dynamics; robotic simulation; computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models; and data analytics.If selected for this role you will report to the Team Leader-Systems Engineering.This is a 2-year Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement located on-site in Orlando, FL.What You Will DoDevelop and review detailed mechanical and system level simulations and analysis in Ansys and MATLAB Simscape.Develop and review scripts for automated analysis tasks (e.g. Python, Matlab, Visual Studio, GitLab).Develop proposals that include job assignments, scopes of work, validation plans and procedures.Lead project efforts for the analysis and review process for new and existing ride and show elements.Apply standard engineering techniques and principles effectively to model sophisticated mechanical systems.Produce status reports detailing project activities ensuring that team members and management are well informed of activities.Track and inform project teams and leadership on project schedule and budget trends.Drive decisions on tools and software platforms for analyses.Define new projects or business ventures that fit the organization’s strategic plan.Required Qualifications & Skills5+ years working in a related role in the entertainment or general engineering industries.Highly proficient in Ansys including Mechanical FEA, Transient Analysis, and Rigid Body Dynamic workspaces.Highly proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Space Claim, and Design Modeler.Strong understanding of mechanical design, structural analysis (FEA), machine design principles and working with linear and non-linear material models in finite element space.Strong physics and mathematics academic background and ability to develop differential equations and physical model derivation.Strong knowledge of system and software design, coding, and debugging.Familiar with the Model Based Design (MBD) approach to simulation and with software tools such as MATLAB Simscape and Ansys TwinBuilder for dynamic electro-mechanical simulations.Familiar with software development tools used in automating engineering tasks such as Python, C#, and Visual Studio.Familiar with Agile software development practices, including scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.Familiar with GitHub/GitLab, SVN, or similar version control and documentation revision tool sets.Demonstrated ability to train and mentor Simulation and Analysis engineering personnel on analysis efforts.Demonstrated ability to lead projects with support engineers in the development of the simulation and analysis efforts.Proven ability to find opportunities to leverage software automation to improve processes.Preferred QualificationsValidated Professional Engineer License.Proven understanding of Ride and Show systems.Familiar with Ansys API and ACT app developmentFamiliar with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) softwares such as Fluent CFD.EducationBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Equivalent from ABET-certified curriculum is required.MSEE, MSME, MSCE, and/or post-graduate work is preferred.Additional InformationBenefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
