Senior Systems Administrator 

• Full time ongoing position
• Based in Hobart
• Support the coordination, troubleshooting and documentation for ICT infrastructure

The University’s Information Technology Services (ITS) is an essential part of teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities.

The Opportunity

As Senior Systems Administrator you will oversee, direct and provide leadership to the System Administrators supporting the operations of computer systems related to the technical silo(s) for which they are responsible.  Leading the Systems Administrators, you will coordinate documentation and security management, system integration, problem diagnosis and capacity planning.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the operations of nominated ICT technical silos, providing expert technical advice and support.
• Provide training and technical expertise to team members in troubleshooting and resolution of ICT service issues.
• Implement and maintain a systems business impact assessment to prioritise service recovery in the event of a failure.
• Maintain and develop effective documentation and ICT standards for infrastructure and associated services supporting University business operations.

­Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

• A relevant degree; or associate diploma and extensive relevant experience; an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Expert knowledge of system administration activities.
• An expert understanding of systems integration and network concepts.
• Expert knowledge and experience with virtualisation and data protection concepts and technologies.
• Proven experience in systems risk mitigation and ability to work to critical business timeframes.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $119,949 comprising base salary within the range of $93,273 to $102,521 plus 17% superannuation.
