The University of Southern California’s (USC) Marshall School of Business seeks a Senior Student Engagement Programs Advisor to join the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

The Senior Student Engagement Programs Advisor is a staff position with responsibility as the primary liaison and first point of contact for students across our campus. This individual will have experience in and enjoy working with entrepreneurially inclined students and student organization leaders, providing information and guidance about entrepreneurship events, opportunities, and resources at USC. We are seeking someone who is highly detail oriented, with a strong team orientation.

This position is responsible for supporting student activities including the USC Greif Center eCouncil, eCouncil, Blackstone LaunchPad programming, and more – encompassing student workshops and events.  Duties include assisting the Greif Center’s Managing Director in conducting and marketing these activities, maintaining records, monitoring student progress, evaluating programs, and creating program reports.  Ideally, candidates will have previous experience with student and or entrepreneurship programming and two years or more program coordination experience.

The Greif Center is a national leader in entrepreneurship education, research, and programming. Our faculty is composed of a mix of highly regarded researchers and practitioners, all of whom are actively involved in providing highly innovative and experiential classroom and outside-of-class education. Ranked 7th and 5th for our graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship programs respectively by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine (for 2022), we supplement our offerings with specialized graduate degree programs in social entrepreneurship (MSSE) and entrepreneurship and innovation (MSEI).

The job will commence early spring 2022. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as primary liaison and first point of contact for students and student organizations seeking initial information and guidance about entrepreneurship opportunities and available entrepreneurship resources within Marshall and across campus.
  • Help coordinate and lead student information sessions and mixers and support the management of our student entrepreneurship council (eCouncil), Blackstone LaunchPad program, and grant programs.
  • Participate in and attend student-focused entrepreneurship events, collecting, analyzing, and reporting back on attendance, participation, and other key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing & communications team to share news of upcoming activities, recent activities, and results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher plus two years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Self-starter, problem solver, innovator who likes working in a faced paced environment
  • Demonstrated efficiency in completing work in a timely manner
  • Awareness of and ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Demonstrated customer service skills as they relate to working with students
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Marketing/social media knowledge preferred

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree

Additional Education Requirements
Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience:
2 years of directly related professional experience in program specialization.

Minimum Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills and writing skills.
Ability to analyze information and problem-solve.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
Strong project management experience.
Proficient technology skills.
Demonstrated experience interacting with diverse groups, exercising diplomacy, good judgment and discretion.

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree

Preferred Experience:
3 years of experience in an institution of higher education.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with local community.
Demonstrated experience with office management communication software and tools (e.g., Google suite, Slack, Skype) and social media management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and or Adobe Creative software.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-platform communications and marketing plans involving publications, videos, websites, social media, and public speeches and presentations.
