Senior Statutory Returns Officer

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Senior Statutory Returns Officer. This role encompasses statutory returns that relate to students and also the maintenance of the course-related curriculum in the student record system. Solent University is in the process of changing to the SITS student record system, we expect to go fully live in August 2023.

We would expect candidates to have knowledge of the Higher Education sector. Ideally you will have experience of statutory returns in either the Further or Higher Education context. Knowledge of the SITS student record system would also be of benefit.

You will assist with the compilation, analysis and submission of the University’s external data returns for student and course data to key stakeholders, for example HESA and the Office for Students.

You will ensure the returns are delivered to time and to specification via robust and auditable processes. You will ensure that data is collected and held in compliance with statutory requirements that support League Tables and other national metrics such as NSS, GO, and TEF.

You will be responsible for developing business processes and procedures that assist the University’s transition to the ‘HESA Data Futures’ model.

You will provide analytical support for a range of activities that will lead to timely interventions that improve student experience and outcomes.

You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the courses and related information stored in the student record system.
