Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within Oxford Population Health and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.

As Senior Statistician, you will lead the statistical analyses on large-scale data from several large-scale randomized trials of different treatments for some of the major diseases affecting public health. Your key responsibilities will include planning and delivering statistical analyses, disseminating research activities, by preparing tables, figures and text for publication and contributing to teaching materials and lecturing.

To be considered, you will have an MSc in a relevant numerate subject (e.g. statistics, mathematics, medical science) and substantial experience in statistics or epidemiology/clinical trials methodology. You will also have the ability to identify, lead and deliver a program of analyses related to a particular research question, excellent programming skills in SAS or R and a demonstrated ability to understand and undertake statistical analyses in relation to large scale data.

The post is full time (although part time considered) and fixed term for 2 years. The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 18 November 2022.
