Position Focus:

Yale’s Office of HR Innovation and Strategic Support (HRISS) is a dynamic, forward-thinking team tasked with balancing people, processes, and technology to help HR make informed decisions and deliver results. We collaborate with our clients to develop leading HR strategies and support organizations in achieving excellence through implementing solutions that transform how they organize, develop capabilities, deploy technology, and deliver a leading employee experience.

We are looking for enterprising, focused, organized self-starters to help further the team’s focus on integration delivery and data conversion processes. The experienced candidates should preferably have both the functional and the technical skills in Workday Integrations and preferably some Salesforce knowledge. As a Workday Senior Software Engineer your primary responsibility may include: Support the Integration workstream driving towards decisions and recommending best practices related to Workday functionality. Identify strategies, risks, and options, and recommend approaches and mitigations to meet client/functional requirements. Design and building of simple to complex applications and integrations that integrate with Yale’s systems and outside vend. Lead, mentor, counsel and manage the performance of project staff (depending upon project structure). Demonstrate design options through the use of prototyping. Demonstrate strong client and stakeholder collaboration to achieve project objectives. Support innovation through the creation of new industry-leading methods and assets. This position could be considered for a fully remote work location.

Essential Duties

1. Takes leadership role in the design, development and delivery of applications, programs, and systems. 2. Provides software development services including: analysis, specifications, design, programming, testing, deployment, and support. 3. Works directly with clients to identify application requirements. Performs systems analysis and develops and implements technical solutions based on business needs, project goals, and priorities. 4. Develops solutions to technical issues or to support business opportunities. Serves as a liaison to end users for problem solving, education or enhancements. Works with staff to identify system enhancement needs. 5. Works with users to identify reporting needs. Develops queries, extracts and reports from system databases and schedules and distributes these reports as applicable. 6. Provides technical advice and other project support to other team members. Trains technical and non-technical personnel. Develops skills and nurtures best practices. 7. Applies and keeps current with existing and emerging technologies and methodologies. Provides ongoing input to the establishment of programming standards, procedures, and methodologies. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and six years of related experience in analysis and programming applications or database solutions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 1:

Familiar with Workday Studio Integrations, Workday Core Connector integrations, Workday EIB, API integrations, XML language, XSLT style sheets, and Workday Reports including BIRT reports.

Required Skill/Ability 2:

Strong experience in implementing custom solutions and integrating with Third Party applications.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Exposure to some reporting and data visualization business intelligence tool such as Microsoft Power BI.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team, including the ability to work with people from all levels of an organization.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Working knowledge of SDLC processes including requirements gathering, design, build, and test.
