Reference no.: 2834With 27 teaching subjects, one specialization and over 12,000 student teachers, the University of Vienna is the largest teacher training institution in Austria. At the Centre for Teacher Education (ZLB), we are working to bundle and further develop the various initiatives to improve the quality of teacher education. Together with the faculties and centres involved in teacher education and the universities of teacher education within the North-East Network, future teachers are prepared for the changing needs of a modern school and are enabled to contribute to shaping the learning and living environment of schools on the basis of scientific expertise.Your personal sphere of play:Your future position is at the Department of Teacher Education in the work group Educational Sciences, characterized by excellent research in teacher education as well as in the areas of educational theory and applied research in the areas of teacher professionalization and development of educational systems. It is a permanent position.The department is part of the Centre for Teacher Education. Academic staff as well as students appreciate the diversity of subjects, internationality, outstanding research projects, interdisciplinary cooperation, exchange between colleagues, exchange with the younger generation, etc.Your future tasks:Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You build up an independent research profile in the fields of educational sciences, in particular systems theory, educational theory and teacher education.
- You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of embodied education, sustainability, quality of life, social movements and formal and informal learning networks.
- You publish internationally and give lectures.
- You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
- You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You supervise your students on the above mentioned topics.
- You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
- You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject Educational Sciences
- Outstanding dissertation
- Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
- Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds
- Experience in research management and in leading project staff
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Excellent IT skills (e.g. MAXQDA, Citavi)
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence for education as well as analysis of policy documents are a significant advantage
- The post holder is expected to acquire German language skills over the next few years to enable teaching in the Bachelor’s programs and participation in university committees
- Team player and high social/communicative skills
