Senior Scientist (Research Engineer) for a full-time, permanent position at the Institute for Machine Learning

Job Duties:

  • Build large-scale, deep-learning frameworks
  • Maintain software stacks
  • Integrate / develop new project related software
  • Actively engage in hardware related matters (GPUs, server farms, storage, …)
  • Actively participate in publications for Deep Learning conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and / or computer vision conferences, such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV
  • Co-supervise graduate students and Ph.D. candidates
  • Conduct and create classroom lectures for the academic degree program, Artificial Intelligence

Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in AI, Computer Science, or related fields, and/or possess professional industry experience
  • Having published for Deep Learning conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, or computer vision conferences, such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV
  • Expertise in modern Deep Learning software, such as PyTorch or JAX
  • Expertise in Deep Learning Compute infrastructure
  • Expertise in Git/Github, Continuous Integration, modular coding, …
  • Avid interest to build large-scale, deep-learning frameworks, and train large models
  • A strong sense of commitment, and the ability to work independently as well as work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency in English (level B2)

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week), the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 4,351.90 gross per month (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1), payment above the average salary depending on professional qualifications and/or experience
