The University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Computational and Systems Biology is seeking a motivated college graduate with a degree in biological sciences, research experience, and a strong interest in research to join The Robin E. C. Lee Laboratory of Cellular Dynamics and Molecular Circuits. Research in the lab uses molecular, computational, and systems biology to investigate signal transduction in single cells associated with inflammatory diseases and cancer.
This Research Specialist will conduct research under direct guidance of the Principal Investigator and provide support for other lab personnel. On a daily basis, responsibilities will be to perform experiments, record and interpret data, participate in experimental design, and perform day-to-day lab maintenance.
The incumbent will utilize expertise in cell biology, molecular genetics, immunofluorescence, quantitative microscopy, and image analysis in addition to the development and implementation of microfluidic systems for imaging human cell cultures. The incumbent will also work with computational tools and contribute to software for an ardunio-based microfluidic laminar flow controller.
Master’s; 5-6 years experience required.
