Senior Research Fellow

The School of Nursing & Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Senior Research Fellow. 

They will join the research team led by Professor Donna Fitzsimons to work on a Burdett Trust for Nursing funded project entitled ASMOSUS: Co-creation of a digital resource to build students’ skills in ASsessing cardiovascular risk, MOtivating change and SUStaining a healthier lifestyle in themselves and others.

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual who will be responsible for daily project management and delivery of ASMOSUS. The successful candidate will be a fundamental pillar to the project. They will take the lead on effectively managing the complexity of implementing mixed-methods research; overseeing the co-creation of a digital educational resource with nursing students and staff; maintaining communication between centres (Queen’s University Belfast and Edinburgh Napier University); running recruitment and data collection; strengthening established collaborations; and assisting with data analysis and dissemination.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • A relevant degree with a PhD completed in a relevant subject (i.e., cardiovascular disease, chronic disease, lifestyle management, or public health)
  • Substantial relevant experience in mixed-methods approaches
  • Experience undertaking co-design research methods
  • A sustained publication record in peer reviewed/refereed journals or invited presentations that are REF returnable.

This is a fixed term contract available until 16 October 2024.  Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
