Senior Research Engineer (Software Development)

A Senior Research Engineer position is available in the Centre for Information Sciences and Systems, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Job Description:

The Senior Research Engineer (Software Development) will be mainly responsible for integrating hybrid on-board unit (OBU) running the latest Vehicle to Everything (V2X) technology for Connected Smart Mobility (COSMO) programme. The job roles include:

• Understand the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), from its fundamental technologies like 802.11p and cellular V2X to the top-level applications with a steep learning curve

• Understand embedded linux programming, to enhance existing libraries and applications

• Create new C-V2X use cases that is defined in 3GPP TR22.885/886

• Help preparing the resources and assisting live demo during open house events and ad hoc events

• Work closely with PI, team members and collaborators to ensure timely and efficient completion of project milestones

Job Requirements:

Educational background required:

• Bachelor and above degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience

• Interested in V2X technologies and passionate about software development

• Proficient with embedded Linux programming

• Proficient with modern C++ programming language

• Experience in working with security libraries such as openssl

• Experience in software configuration management tools, e.g. Git or Subversion

• Experience in hands-on Internet technology and mobile app development will be added advantages

• Experience in data analysis will be added advantages

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment

• Candidate with less experience may also be considered as Research Engineer
