Senior Research Engineer (Information Technology/Software System Design)

A Senior Research Engineer position is available in the Centre for Information Sciences and Systems, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Job Description:

• Responsible for the maintenance of the existing frontend/backend of Connected Smart Mobility Test-Bed.

• Design and develop new frontend/backend features to support the V2X ITS framework

Job Requirements:

Educational background required:  
Bachelor and above in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering. Experienced candidate with polytechnic diploma is also considered.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong software engineering competencies with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on design and development experience. Required to build solutions that are flexible, secure and scalable

• Have a very good understanding of ITS use cases and applications

• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members

• (Front-end) Strong web-application development background required. Strong experience in JavaScript, VueJS 2, Quasar Framework and Websockets preferred

• (Back-end) Design, build and maintain REST APIs and state of backend systems based on Golang

• (Mobile) Android mobile development background required. Preferably with experience in Dart+Flutter to develop cross platform apps, and Java to understand legacy native Android code.

• Familiar with mapping technologies and frameworks. E.g. VueLayers, OpenLayers, MS4W, WMS, WFS

• Working experience with databases. E.g. Postgresql, PostGIS

• Familiar with Docker deployment platform

• Familiar with Linux platform, its configuration and command line operations

• Familiar with version control systems, e.g. Git, Subversion
