Job Summary:

The Referral Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving traffic, engagement, and sales within key geographic regions for Vail Resorts Retail’s rental/retail stores and online eCommerce platforms. This position is focused on identifying, developing, and managing strategic business development opportunities between VRR and various stakeholders, including hospitality partners (both owned and third-party), resort and community affiliates, and other Vail of business. The primary objective is to drive both walk-in and online reservations, boosting sales and enhancing guest experiences. The Referral Specialist is instrumental in building meaningful connections through effective relationship management, strategic marketing initiatives, and targeted, personalized outreach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Forge and strengthen sales-oriented partnerships with area lodging entities to drive retail and rental referral growth.

  • Strategically manage relationships to outperform competitors by driving guest traffic for walk-in and close-in reservations (online reservations) from in-resort guests.

  • Lead the development of new initiatives in collaboration with leadership to drive incremental sales.

  • Execute a schedule of strategic visits to optimize partner engagement, and performance.

  • Design and implement seasonal strategies, including sales targets, budget management, media planning, strategic promotions, and participation in local events.

  • Partner with Vail Resorts Retail operations to explore unique opportunities such as contractually-bound rental referral partnerships and/or opportunities to open satellite rental locations/clubs inside partner properties.

  • Advise on referral commission structures, rental pricing strategies, and promotional efforts with a focus on market-specific needs.

  • Ensure accurate reporting and commission structures, while resolving issues related to member complaints, order inaccuracies, and system errors.

  • Coordinate with marketing teams on the creation of referral cards, promotional materials, and other division projects.

  • Monitor competitive landscape and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

  • Organize and execute Partner Appreciation Events to reinforce and celebrate successful partnerships.

  • Create and manage pricing spreadsheets and marketing collateral for in-resort partners.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in marking and/or sales (retail and partnership marketing preferred)

  • Experience with Word Suite, advanced excel skills required

  • Strong communicator that is able to provide and receive feedback Strong team player

  • Able to work in a fast past environment and prioritize changing objectives

  • High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
