The Senior Recruiter plays a significant role in communicating NDI’s employee value proposition, as well as influencing NDI’s culture through the hiring process. This is a full lifecycle recruiting position working with both national and international candidates, from college hires to prominent leaders. A constant focus will be placed on hiring the top talent, with diversity being paramount, and ensuring a pipeline of innovative talent for the future.

Essential Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Follow NDI’s recruitment process and related programs to ensure all recruitment activities are consistent with the company’s mission, vision, and values. Ensure that recruitment processes are documented, communicated, and followed.
  • Develop and maintain strong business partnerships with NDI’s Hiring Managers to ensure. collaboration throughout the hiring process and a strategic approach for sourcing, selecting and onboarding new hires to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified, diverse employees.
  • Partner with hiring managers to build effective souring, engagement, and assessment strategies for the most critical talent pools.
  • Develop a pipeline through strong candidate relationships to attract and identify talent and create awareness of NDI. This includes participating in networking and outreach initiatives to leverage NDI’s visibility and reputation as an employer in the marketplace and build diverse sources of candidates for potential hire.
  • Help ensure recruiting data integrity by using the ATS to optimize and document accurately.
  • Provide ideas on improving recruiting, selection and hiring efficiencies with a focus on diversity and compliance.
  • Build broad market knowledge to understand trends of hiring and the retention of top talent.
  • Mentor other Recruiters /Coordinators as needed.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Human Resources team on a variety of HR-related projects to deliver on NDI’s people strategy. Participate in special projects, as required, including serving on NDI cross-function teams.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience


  • 5 years of progressive recruiting experience required; preferably with international, union and/or nonprofit experience.
  • Experience with developing successful outreach and sourcing initiatives, creating pipelines, and establishing a proven track record of hiring success.
  • Experience utilizing an ATS (Ultipro preferred) in the hiring process.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong knowledge of full cycle recruiting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

Work Environment

This position generally is performed in an office environment and may be suitable for partial telework. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, as well as attendance at external events. Some international travel is required in this role to NDI field locations. These locations often are in remote locations and may require significant time and varying modes of travel. Designated locations also may at times be considered less secure and with greater risk to NDI employees.

  • Seeing—to effectively use a computer screen and for reading and interpreting printed materials, memos and other paperwork.
  • Reaching/handling—to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.
