Senior Receptionist

University of Oxford

THIS POST IS A RE-ADVERTISEMENT AND PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY

Hours of work: 7.45am – 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and evening shifts.

Do you have a friendly manner and enjoy working in a customer service role? The Department for Continuing Education is seeking to appoint a Senior Receptionist to play a lead role in co-ordinating the front of house work for our busy conference and course related activities. You will work at the reception desk and be responsible for a team of receptionists, training and developing the team and delegating work to them in assisting the conference office with their enquires.

You will be familiar with working in a reception environment, with good skills in dealing with all types of guest enquires, whether they be face-to-face or over the telephone. The role includes the need to be flexible with working hours which include occasional weekend and evening shifts.

This role is busy and diverse, and comes with opportunities for personal development. Working with the University also gives you a number of great benefits including:

  • generous holiday allowance;
  • discounts on transport; and
  • excellent pension scheme.

Due to the hours of the role being greater than full-time, there is an annual allowance paid for the additional 4.75 hours per week.

We would be willing to consider candidates with potential, but less experience, who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at grade 3 (£21,197 – £23,715 per annum with a discretionary range to £25,642, plus an annual allowance of £4,138 to £4,629 with a discretionary range to £5,005) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.

All applications should be made online. Please submit a CV and a supporting statement as part of your application.

The closing date for applications is noon on 11 November 2022.

Committed to equality and valuing diversity.
