Position Summary:
This position reports directly to the associate dean for student programs in Medical Education for the School of Medicine. The position performs a variety of assignments coordinating and supporting several student programs including, but not limited to: the Committee for Respect and Civility in the Learning Environment (CiRCLE), Student Mistreatment Awareness Training (MAT) sessions, the Student Status working group, and Student Summer Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinates and supports the Committee for Respect and Civility in the Learning Environment (CiRCLE). CiRCLE is charged with reviewing individual and aggregate reports by medical students about any adverse experiences with faculty, residents, staff, patients and each other. The committee is also empowered to review actions taken to address issues that may have arisen, and to make recommendations, including recommendations for changes in policy and educational interventions for faculty, residents, staff and students. CiRCLE may initiate projects that increase mistreatment awareness and promote reporting.
Coordinates and manages Medical Education Student Mistreatment Awareness Training (MTA) sessions, including but not limited to, scheduling, preparing training materials, monitoring, tracking, and reporting on completion outcomes. The MTA sessions occur throughout the year and are mandatory for all students, staff, faculty, and residents.
Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Student Programs, this position will schedule and manage medical student class meetings for each of the four medical school classes. This includes preparing topic presentation materials and resources, as well as scheduling of presenters.
This position is the liaison between Medical Education and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) regarding all student surveys, including but not limited to: the Matriculating Student Questionnaire (MSQ), the Year Two Questionnaire (Y2Q), and the Graduation Questionnaire (GQ). This position manages and monitors student progression on completion, manages and tracks student incentives, sends reminder emails, and prepares final results for Medical Education leadership.
This position is the primary contact for the calendaring and scheduling of meetings and events for the Associate Dean of Student Programs. The position will assist in preparing meeting agendas and will take minutes for various committees within Medical Education Student Programs.
Coordinates and manages the MU Medical Education Student Status Committee. The committee meets monthly to monitor the progress of pre-clinical and clinical medical students, including those on a leave of absence or individualized study plans, as well as monitor student graduation requirements.
