Senior Program Coordinator, Center for Biomedical Informatics and Genomics

Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Senior Program Coordinator for the Deming Department of Medicine – Section of Biomedical Informatics and Genomics is responsible for the coordination of graduate education programs in Biomedical Informatics. Interfacing with administrators, faculty, program directors, students and prospective students. This position will have day-to-day oversight and management of the Master’s program and interdisciplinary PhD track for the department. This position will work to strengthen and enhance the Master’s program and interdisciplinary PhD track by fostering interest, supporting student success, and tracking program outcomes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrates and desires a team approach to work 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and web page development/content management programs 
• Ability to prioritize work assignments 
• Excellent organization skills 
• Ability to use and understand data collected in spreadsheets and similar systems 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty and administrators
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ program coordination experience 
OR 
 • High school diploma/equivalent and 8 years’ program experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ graduate education program coordination experience 
• Database management and website management experience 
• Student advising experience at the graduate level 
• Experience with Banner, Ilios, ExamSoft, CommonSpot (and Drupal), WordPress, BlackBoard
