Senior Program Analyst

Senior Program Analyst specific activities: The contractor will work closely with the NIBIB staff on trans-NIH initiatives which include planning and administrative support for the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx-Tech/ATP), Harnessing Data Science for Health Discovery and Innovation in Africa (DSI-Africa) initiative and NIBIB Technology Accelerator Challenge (NTACs) activities.
Tasks and activities pertaining to the trans-NIH initiative will include:

  • Prepare reports and documents
  • Draft policy and standard operating procedures
  • Manage stakeholder communications; organize meetings with the Principal Investigators; advise senior staff of progress and problems; prepare status reports
  • Attend and participate in meetings# Work with NIH staff and serve as the point of contact to coordinate planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures and workshops # Conduct literature and database searches for material directed at specific programmatic needs.
  • Develop and maintain database and website content related to scientific programs.
  • Maintain and distribute scientific papers relevant to specific programmatic needs.
  • Review, proofread and archive programmatic documents describing scientific and management issues and policies related to the designated program.
  • Work with NIH staff on Program evaluations.
  • Organize, analyze and/or present reports in scientific areas.
  • Read, interpret, analyze and condense material from a variety of sources for presentation.
  • Prepare presentation materials such as tables, graphs, slides and overheads by assimilating data.
    Request information from and provide e-mail, phone and written responses to principal investigators (grantees), extramural program staff and others on scientific and programmatic issues.
  • Analyze and develop presentations consisting of data from grantee progress reports to be used by Program staff and at grantee meetings in the overall analysis of Program progress.
  • Take a proactive role in tracking action items and tasks, providing deadline reminders to Program staff; update and maintain spreadsheets of relevant information.
  • Participate in meetings and provide minutes/reports.
  • Work with NIH staff and serve as the point of contact with logistics contract staff to coordinate planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures and workshops.
  • Develop meeting agendas for Program working group meetings and other Program related meetings.
  • Support at local and national meetings in collaboration with program staff by delivering presentations and posters; disseminate details of the Program and collect information of value to the Program goals.
  • Organize and maintain a repository of resources, including minutes, reports, spreadsheets and web pages related to the program.
  • Work with the NIH and NIBIB communications and IT staff to create content for website and disseminate to media outlets.

Qualifications:

The applicant must have:

  • Master’s degree in the Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Bioengineering, Biotechnology or related discipline Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Background in bioengineering and/or biotechnology development
  • Skill in data analysis, preparation of spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing both text and numerical data from the internet and other resources.
  • Ability to produce graphical and tabular representations of complex data for presentation and use by Program staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Place of Performance:
The NIH is currently under flexible working policies. The position can be performed remotely at the discretion of the IC or the place of performance in an NIBIB office location either NIH Building 31 Suite 1C16 or 6707 Democracy Blvd Suite 200 in Bethesda, MD.
Operational Hours:
Work will be performed up to 40 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
